Food is meant to nourish & support, which is exactly what you need during cancer.

Cancer is a situation you never thought you’d be in. It can feel like all control is lost because instead of going to your job or spending your free time with loved ones, you now have appointments, constant anxiety, and a sense of loss around the life you were living just a few months ago.

On top of this, you keep hearing “sugar feeds cancer”, “keto diets starve cancer”, or “fasting cures cancer”…it’s completely overwhelming, sounds totally miserable, and how do you know what to actually believe? Do you really need to purge your pantry of everything that comes in a box or a can!?

Let me be frank. Food matters, but there is zero reason it should be a stressor in your life when you’ve got cancer to fight. Food is meant to sustain your life - not cripple it with fear, stress, and constant restriction. Now is the time to use foods to your advantage - and it may look a bit different than you think.

As a registered dietitian, board certified specialist in oncology nutrition, and the founder of the Wellness Cancer Dietitian, it’s my mission to help you find the foods that support you (even with treatment side effects) so you can reclaim control over this piece of your health. Okay, let’s pause on the food stuff for just a moment. You need to know who you’re working with at the Wellness Cancer Dietitian:

I can nerd out on the science behind yoga. Once a yoga skeptic, now turned yoga teacher - I’m totally here for the science behind the “woo woo”.

I’m obsessed with wildlife, particularly marine wildlife. Let’s just say I’ve scored some trivia points with random facts about whales that I probably have no business knowing.

I love to travel & have a difficult time repeating destinations. If you start talking to me about a past trip you took, you better get cozy because we’ll be chatting for awhile.

I’m a little “crunchy” - but within reason. I’m into clean products & whole body wellness, but not to the point where we ignore research. It’s okay to be in a middle ground of holistic vs science.
